Free Fest is delighted to be supporting 1st Chard Scout Group at this year’s event.
In return for helping with marshalling and supporting the smooth running of the day, all money raised from stallholder pitch fees will go directly to 1st Chard Scout Group.

We’ve deliberately kept pitch fees low and affordable so that local businesses, makers, crafters, community groups and charities can be part of Free Fest without a large upfront cost. £20 for general and £15 for charity

WHO CAN BOOK
Local businesses, makers, crafters, community groups and charities are all welcome to apply.
Please note: food, drink and ice cream stalls are not available, as these have already been arranged by the event organisers.
How much does a stall cost?
A general stall is £20 and a charity stall is £15. All stallholder pitch fees raised will go to 1st Chard Scout Group in return for their support with marshalling at Free Fest.
Can food, drink or ice cream traders book a pitch?
No. Food, drink and ice cream provision has already been arranged by the event organisers, so we are not accepting bookings from additional food or drink traders.
What time should stallholders arrive?
Stallholders must arrive between 10:45am and 11:15am sharp. Please do not arrive late, as all stalls must be set up and ready before the gates open to the public at 12 midday.
What time must my stall be ready?
All stalls must be fully set up and ready to trade by 12 midday, when the festival gates open to the public.
When can I leave?
Stallholders may leave at any time after 5pm. A designated exit route will be available so traders can leave safely without disrupting the festival.
Can I park my vehicle behind my stall?
Yes. Stallholders will be able to park their vehicle behind their stall.
How big is my pitch?
There is no strict standard pitch size — anything within reason is fine. If you have an unusually large setup, please let the organisers know when booking.
Do I need to bring my own gazebo, tables and chairs?
Yes. Stallholders are responsible for bringing everything required for their own setup, including gazebos, tables, chairs and any other equipment they need.
Is electricity available?
No. There is no electricity supply available for stallholders, so please plan your stall accordingly.
Is water available?
No. There is no water supply provided for stallholders.
Do I need public liability insurance?
Yes. Stallholders must have appropriate public liability insurance for their activities. You do not need to send us a copy when booking, but you are responsible for ensuring suitable cover is in place.
Do I need a risk assessment?
Yes. Stallholders are responsible for carrying out an appropriate risk assessment for their stall and activities. We do not require a copy as part of the booking process, but you should have one in place.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Free Fest is an outdoor event and will continue in typical British weather, so please come prepared! Make sure your gazebo and equipment are suitable for outdoor use and dress appropriately for the conditions.
Are stall fees refundable?
No. Stallholder pitch fees are non-refundable.
Where does my stall fee go?
All money raised from stallholder pitch fees will go directly to 1st Chard Scout Group, who are supporting Free Fest with marshalling during the event.
